We had a really enjoyable time in Potsdam catching up with Sandies old pen friend Peter and his wife Renata. The first catch-up was in 2013, we were not sure if there would be a second. But planning this trip we decided there had to be one more visit to see them.
They showed us new places in and around Potsdam that we hadn't seen before and we also did a very interesting visit to an Island village some 18km away,
We did a lot of talking, Peter has a wealth of knowledge about Germany and the Prussian period as well as experiencing life in East Germany under Russian occupation.
On the last day they took us to the Berlin Station to catch our train to Prague.
Now this Berlin station is no ordinary station..its built on 3 levels, with local, intercity and inter country trains all converging here... their help was invaluable to us getting onto the right platform for our trip to Prague.
They helped me celebrate my 70th birthday... quite something to do in an other country.
We went to a local brewery for a lunch time celebration.
