INNSBRUCK DAYS 1 AND 2

Getting here was quite an experience. There was no indication on the railway site that a seat reservation may be necessary..but believe me it was.
Not a seat available in first class  so it was off to look for a seat, any where..first stop was the dining car. We found a table and chairs with enough room to put us and all our stuff..and there we stayed for the next 2.5 hrs
Hotel Zack is a small family owned and run hotel, clean , modern, with a good breakfast included in the tariff  and only a 10 min walk from the main Station.
We can say that Innsbruck is worth at least 3 nights. We were about a 10min walk from the heart of the old town. The city is surrounded by huge mountains, there's a fast flowing river on the edge of the old town.
Innsbruck has been an important place of power since the 11  century, The important Kings and Queens tightened there claim on the city and region by marrying into other near by kingdoms of the period.
There are many streets without vehicle's, so its a pleasure to stroll around
Lots of interesting buildings, museums, and churches including the Cathedral. We also visited the Palace right in the center of the old quarter.

PICS
streetscapes to try and show the mountains
the cathedral
Palace
important Kings, Queens and Knights of the time.
interesting sign
