MUNICH...MAD KING LUDWIG

To see Ludwigs castle NEUSCHWANSTEIN is a long day trip from Munich, in fact 10hrs.  For us it was  3hours each way by train  with two changes of train , then a bus ride and a bloody
 steep 1.5 km walk to the castle entrance.
We didn't go in,  for us it was about seeing  the fairy tale castle in the Alpine setting.
It's pretty good, we think the best views are from the small town at the base of the hill
