Dachau is about a 12 min train ride from Munich central train station, then a 10 min bus ride to the Camp site.
The campsite is very large in area but not much remains.
You see the original entry point gate, where Jews, and many others got their first look at this gruesome site. Its not a pretty story that becomes much more real when you stand on the same ground as those that were dealt torture, medical experimentation, hard labour for the war effort, and death by starvation, disease, work, suicide, hangings, torture so terrible they just surrendered to death.
Then there were the gas chambers and cremations
These things went on 24hrs a day everyday., until the end of WW2.
On the gate it reads " never again"... a nice sentiment indeed
But , remember, Pol Pot, Edy Armin, (spelling) Stalin, Mao, ect who have also killed millions of their own people since the end of WW2.
What has the world learnt, what has the world done to rid its self from the dictators, who's self interest is more important than any other human life.
It's a sad world but I guess we have to remain optimistic.and vigilant
Enough from me.

Can't say DACHAU IS exciting but it is moving.
Such a sad place that today looks so peaceful set amongst it's manequired gardens. Perhaps now a fitting tribute to all those poor innocent souls who lost their lives in the name of world domination.😟
