BRIG ..DAY 2 ...AN EXCURSION TO ZERMATT

Now this really was a very good day out.
It involved using the  Eurail pass to do the 1.5 hour trip on the Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn train from Brig To Zermatt
What a spectacular mountain trip it is.... high peaks all round, rushing water below, glaciers, villages perched on the sides of the mountains....Zermatt is the place to see and climb the famous Matterhorn Mountain... The village is swiss quaint.... a real tourist town, skiing in winter, and hiking in summer.
Clouds come and go  quickly....each time we thought we were going to get a glimps of the summit another cloud would roll in.
Even given that, the village atmosphere  and assortment  of timber and stone building just made the day a good one. It's expensive so we opted for a Big Mac lunch....hard to admit but had to be done! Dinner tonight at the hotel, this was a Booking.Com deal that proved a winner.
